Ningbo-Zhoushan port has implemented closed-loop management and green channels to enable the movement of container trucks, after new Covid-19 outbreaks in the Beilun district, where the port is located in, resulted in a lockdown that began on 14 October

Although the port remains operational, the areas that will likely be compromised will the availability and appetite of truckers to enter the restricted areas.  Also it will be important to consider the location of eachsupplier and whether they will be affected by the lockdown measures.

The extreme decision to lock down a large area comes against the back drop of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, currently taking place in Beijing, and lasting until the end of this week.  It is unlikely that the measures will be reviewed until after the Congress concludes.

The team at AFS will continue to keep you updated on any impact this will have on your bookings from Ningbo and, where possible, investigate any alternative options that are available.
